This Privacy Policy applies to the Artifact Scan app for mobile devices, together with any related services operated by PROCEK at the domain procek.ink. PROCEK is referred to as the “Service Provider” in this policy.
Artifact Scan is a field documentation and cataloging utility. It is not an official excavation permit system, cultural heritage ownership verification service, artifact authentication service, valuation tool, legal advisory service, conservation certification tool, or replacement for professional archaeological judgment.
What information does the Application obtain and how is it used?
The Application does not collect, log, or store personal information when you download and use it. Registration is not required. If the Application is used with an active internet connection, technical protocol data, such as an ephemeral IP address, may be transmitted only to facilitate network connectivity. This data is not retained by the Service Provider and is not used for tracking.
Artifact Scan may allow users to create records such as scans, photos, scan quality values, GPS coordinates, capture times, artifact names, categories, conditions, site names, historical summaries, tags, catalog records, map view data, analysis charts, field notes, settings, and backup preferences. Unless a user enables a backup function or a future feature clearly states otherwise, these records remain on the user’s device and are not collected by PROCEK.
Does the Application collect precise real-time location information?
The Application does not collect precise real-time location information for the Service Provider. If the user enables field settings such as GPS Auto-Tag or Show Coordinates, location values may be saved locally inside the user’s own artifact records on the device. PROCEK does not receive or store those location records through normal app use.
Do third parties see or have access to information obtained by the Application?
Since the Application does not collect personal information through normal use, no personal data is shared with third parties by PROCEK. If a user independently enables a backup or cloud-related option, any transfer may be subject to the user’s chosen platform or service settings. PROCEK does not sell personal data.
Opt-out rights
Because the Application does not collect personal information through normal use, uninstalling the Application removes it from your device. You may also clear locally stored app records from your device using available operating system or app-level controls where applicable.
Data Retention
PROCEK does not retain personal data from Artifact Scan because the Application does not collect, log, or store personal information through normal use.
Any artifact scans, photos, scan quality values, GPS coordinates, capture times, catalog entries, map records, field notes, analysis views, settings, or backup preferences created in the Application are intended to remain local to the user’s device unless the user enables a backup feature or a future feature clearly explains otherwise. Locally stored records remain on the device until the user edits them, deletes them, clears app data, or uninstalls the Application.
If you voluntarily contact PROCEK by email or through another direct communication channel, PROCEK may retain that communication only as long as necessary to respond to your request, maintain business records, or comply with applicable obligations.
Data Deletion
Since Artifact Scan does not collect personal information through normal use, PROCEK has no app-collected personal data to delete from its servers.
Users can delete local app data by removing individual records where the app provides that option, clearing local app storage through device settings, or uninstalling the Application. If you voluntarily provided information to PROCEK outside the app, you may request deletion by contacting support@procek.ink.
Children
The Application is not intended for children under 13 years of age, or such higher age as required by applicable law. PROCEK does not knowingly solicit data from children or market to them. Since the Application does not collect personal information through normal use, children’s data is not collected by the Application.
Security
Because the Application does not collect personal data, the risk of personal data exposure through PROCEK systems is minimal. However, no security system is completely secure. Users are responsible for securing their own devices, local records, and any backup services they choose to enable.
Data Breach Notification
Since the Application does not collect personal data through normal use, the risk of a data breach affecting app-collected personal data is minimal. If a breach occurs involving information you voluntarily provided directly to PROCEK, PROCEK will notify you as required by applicable law.
Changes
PROCEK may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes may be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Where required by law, PROCEK will seek consent before material changes take effect.
This Privacy Policy is effective as of 2026-06-15.
Your Consent
If you voluntarily provide information to PROCEK and processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.
